A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following an assault in Uxbridge last week.

Police were called at 12:27pm on Friday, 26th September, to reports of a fight between two men on High Street, Cowley.
Officers attended alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. A 62-year-old man was treated at the scene, but despite the best efforts of medics he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Detective Inspector Richard Kempshall, who is leading the investigation, said:
“My team are working at pace to establish the full circumstances that led to this man’s tragic death. We have arrested a man and no other suspects are being sought at this time. However, we are urging anyone who may have been in the area of Cowley High Street to review any doorbell or camera footage and share anything that may be of use with police"

One witness, who was inside a nearby shop at the time, told us:
“A fight broke out outside and then suddenly one of the men collapsed. I rushed over and tried to help him by giving CPR, but it was too late.”
Detectives are continuing their enquiries and have appealed to anyone with information to come forward
