A major explosion and fire at an electricity transformer on Nestles Avenue in Hayes has left around 20,000 homes without power. Emergency services are at the scene, with a large cordon in place and residents urged to avoid the area. The London Fire Brigade has confirmed that ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters are tackling the blaze, which broke out at an electrical substation shortly before midnight.
