A large fire broke out earlier today at the Harefield Civic Amenity Site, prompting a significant emergency response from the London Fire Brigade.

Multiple fire appliances, including an incident command unit, were dispatched to the scene shortly after reports of the blaze were received. Thick smoke was visible across the area as crews tackled the flames.
Firefighters brought the situation under control swiftly, and while the main fire has now been extinguished, a small fire crew remains at the site to continue damping down and ensure safety as the area cools.
In a statement, officials confirmed that the site will remain closed to the public until at least midday on Tuesday , 20th May, while safety assessments are carried out.
There have been no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Residents are advised to avoid the area and check for updates before planning visits to the facility.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
