Surge testing to begin in Hayes

Enhanced COVID-19 testing has begun taking place in some UB3 postcode areas following the identification of the variant first identified in South Africa.

There is currently no evidence that this variant brings about more severe illness, or that the regulated vaccines would not protect against it.

Adult residents (over the age of 16) in the UB3 areas are asked to take a COVID-19 test at home. Those who work in the area are requested to get tested at their workplace.

A new mobile test unit is also available for people working in the targeted postcodes or have no symptoms, at Central Avenue Car Park (opposite Botwell Green Sports & Leisure Centre), Hayes.
